u4gm why Zero Skill Effect Duration Matters in PoE 2
#1
People keep talking about Skill Effect Duration in Path of Exile 2 like it's just a "nice to have," but once you start testing it, you realise it can flip how a build plays. You stack reduced duration and things that normally feel sluggish suddenly snap into place. If you're also sorting out gear as you experiment, a lot of folks will point you toward u4gm PoE 2 Currency as a quick way to keep the tinkering going without stalling out your upgrades.

How players are actually hitting 100%

The weird part is it's not a "pick any class, grab a few nodes" kind of trick. Right now, the clean route people are using starts Warrior and goes Titan. You need the Titan node Hulking Form, because it juices the small passives by 50%, and that's what pushes the math over the edge. The passive tree has reduced duration tucked in a few spots, and without that boost you'll get close, but not quite there. It also means you can't be lazy with points. Most setups assume you're around level 70 so you've got enough passives to grab the duration clusters and still patch up life and armour so you're not getting folded by random rares.

The passive tree bits that make it work

You'll see the same names come up in chat and planners: Near at Hand, and that Forthcoming cluster over by the Witch side. On paper, they don't look like much, especially the small nodes. That's the whole point. Hulking Form turns those "whatever" small passives into the real engine. And then there's Searing Heart. A lot of players don't want to path all the way over, so they'll anoint it on the amulet instead and save a pile of travel points. Put it together and you can land on the clean 100% reduced duration line, which is where the game starts behaving… differently.

What zero duration feels like in play

You notice it fast on skills with a built-in delay. Ember Fusillade is the easiest example: normally you cast, the embers hang for a beat, then they fire. At zero duration, that beat basically vanishes. Spawn, fire, done. It starts feeling like a rapid burst tool instead of a "wait for it" button. Earthquake is another one people rave about because the aftershock timing stops being a thing you manage. You slam and the payoff is immediate, which changes pacing in maps and even how you position around bosses.

The defensive angle people didn't expect

Offence is fun, sure, but the spicy part is how it interacts with periodic recovery. Time of Need is meant to tick on an interval, healing and clearing nasty stuff. With duration shoved to zero, players report it feels like you're constantly being cleaned and topped up. Not immortal, because one-shots are still one-shots, but it's the difference between "I hope this cleanse lines up" and "why am I still alive." If you're going to chase this setup, plan your points carefully, test on real fights, and don't forget you can always rebuild around it once you've got a stash of PoE 2 currency farm to support the respec and gear swaps.
